Our Framework

The HOD Philosophy

Most programs train the body. HOD develops the whole person. The order matters — Spirit first, Mind second, Body third. This isn't how most people think about athlete development. That's exactly the point.

01

Spirit

Before the body moves, the spirit must be grounded. We build athletes who know who they are beyond the game — their purpose, character, values, and identity. A strong spirit is the foundation everything else is built on.

  • Purpose & Identity
  • Character Development
  • Core Values
  • Faith & Mindset
02

Mind

The mind is the most powerful tool an athlete has. We develop mental performance, leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the life competencies that create champions in sport and in life.

  • Mental Performance
  • Leadership
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Life Skills
03

Body

With spirit rooted and mind sharpened, the body becomes the expression of that development. We train speed, strength, sport-specific skills, combine preparation, recovery, and nutrition — building elite physical performance.

  • Speed & Strength
  • Sport-Specific Skills
  • Combine Prep
  • Recovery & Nutrition

Our Mission

Our goal is to teach people how to Heal, Overcome, and Dominate in life through the Spirit, Mind, and Body.

The Story

Where HOD Began

From L.O.V.E. to House of Development

It started at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. As a wide receiver for the Panthers, Tre Tipton saw something that statistics couldn't measure — talented athletes struggling with purpose, identity, and life beyond the game.

He created the L.O.V.E. program — Living Out Victoriously Everyday — a peer-led development initiative that grew to impact over 400 student-athletes across Pittsburgh. It wasn't a workout program. It was a life program.

In 2025, that vision was formalized. House of Development ATH was born — a comprehensive athlete development organization rooted in Pittsburgh and built on one foundational belief: the game is bigger than the game.

When athletes leave HOD, they leave with more than speed, strength, and skills. They leave with a clear identity, a disciplined mind, and a spirit equipped for whatever comes next.

Our Mission

Our goal is to teach people how to Heal, Overcome, and Dominate in life through the Spirit, Mind, and Body.

Our Vision

A world where every athlete knows who they are before they know what they can do — where development starts with Spirit, flows through the Mind, and shows up in the Body.

Our Foundation

We Believe In Christ As Our Lord And Savior

Everything HOD does flows from this foundation. The Spirit, Mind & Body framework isn't just a methodology — it's a calling. We believe that true development starts with Spirit, and our Spirit is rooted in faith in Jesus Christ. That faith is the source of our purpose, our character, and our commitment to every athlete and family we serve.

A Cause We Fight For

We Fight For Mental Health & Suicide Prevention

Mental health is not a weakness. It is a battlefield — and too many athletes are fighting it alone in silence. HOD exists to change that. We openly talk about the things that don't make highlight reels: anxiety, depression, identity loss, and the weight of pressure that athletes carry every single day.

We stand firmly against suicide. We believe that every life has immeasurable value — and that with the right support, community, and foundation, people can Heal, Overcome, and Dominate even the darkest seasons.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. You are not alone. Help is available.

What We Stand On

Mental Health Is Not Weakness

We normalize the conversation and create safe space for athletes to be fully human.

Every Life Has Value

No score, performance, or loss changes that. We fight for people — not just athletes.

Community Over Isolation

Healing happens in community. HOD is built to be that community for athletes and families.

Faith Over Fear

We anchor our work in Christ — believing that faith is the most powerful foundation an athlete can have.
